Is the updated design as strong as the old version?

The redesign is actually stronger! It beat the old version in an FEA stress test. The new stamped metal backplate improves rigidity (less bending), and the welds were upgraded for strength and consistency. The rack is lighter, but no less powerful!

Can I use this rack if I don’t have 16″ stud spacing?

Yes. The mounting holes were designed for installation into 16″ wall studs. However, you can install it with any stud spacing if you mount a piece of wood into the wall studs, then mount the rack onto the wood. Drywall anchors are not recommended.

Can I mount this rack onto other materials like concrete or brick?

Yes, this rack can be mounted on various surfaces, including concrete and brick. However, the provided hardware is specifically for mounting on wooden wall studs. You will need to purchase suitable hardware for the surface you plan to mount it on.
