Filter Floss Bio-Media is ribbon type material commonly used in our AquaFalls pond filters in place of lava rock, this is a flat strapping that is embossed on both sides creating additional surface area for bacteria. Lightweight, will last indefinitely and has no effect on water quality (unlike lava rock). Pond builders installing our AquaFalls filters find it easy to convince customers to upgrade to this media since each media bag will weigh 4lbs, instead of 40lbs when filled with lava rock. Mechanical Filtration: Filter Floss is a polyester fiber filter media that provides mechanical filtration in ponds and aquariums. It traps fine particles and debris that can cloud the water and clog the pump or filter system.
Durable and Breathable Mesh Bag: Mesh Bag MB21 (sold separately) is a durable and breathable mesh bag. Each box fills three MB21 mesh bags and contains approximately 6 cubic feet of media. It has a drawstring closure and a plastic ring for easy hanging. It can be placed in any pond or aquarium filter chamber or directly in the water flow.
Easy to Use and Maintain: Filter Floss is easy to use and maintain. Simply rinse the Filter Floss in clean water before placing it in the Mesh Bag. To clean, remove the Filter Floss from the Mesh Bag and wash it in a bucket of water. Squeeze out the excess water and reuse.
